	Writer’s Workshop Entry By: Jack Beckman Due January 25, 2007 My Opinion About Playing Tackle Football This fall I will be able to play tackle football on an actual team. I think it will be difficult to play. I’m not sure what position I’m going to play. I am very excited to play in this type of game that I have never played in before. Tackle football is a lot different than flag football and two-handed touch football. When I play tackle football I need to wear these things: a helmet, padding, pants, jersey, cleats, shoulder pads, long socks that go up to your knees and gloves to help me grip the ball better when I catch it. This sport is very dangerous because a player can break an ankle, wrist or hurt their neck. This is why a player needs to wear the equipment. It protects them from injuries, like the players in the NFL get sometimes. NFL stands for the National Football League. My favorite team is the Chicago Bears. The Chicago Bears are in the Superbowl this year! The Superbowl is the national championship. If a team wins the game, each player gets $100,000. Professional football players make a lot of money and buy nice houses with nice things in them, like pool tables, poker tables, ping pong tables and swimming pools (in their backyard). There can only be eleven players on the football field for each team at a time. If there are too many players on the field, that team gets a yellow flag, which means there is a penalty that is called on the field. I am very excited to play tackle football this fall.
